Julie Wang MD is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr Wang earned her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York City. Subsequently, she undertook a pediatrics residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Cornell, followed by an allergy and immunology fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Wang’s research focuses on clinical trials investigating novel therapies for food allergy. Her research interests also include the epidemiology of food allergy in urban populations and the management of food allergy and anaphylaxis in the school setting.
Dr Wang’s professional memberships include the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, American Academy of Pediatrics, and American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and she serves on several committees within these national societies. She is a member of the Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters (JTFPP) and is past-president of the New York Allergy and Asthma Society. Additionally, she is on the editorial board for the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice, and she serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for Allergy, Clinical and Experimental Allergy, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, , and Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. Among her contributions are numerous articles, reviews, and book chapters. She is an invited speaker at national and international allergy conferences.
